Privacy Policy
Wazure Pte. Ltd. ("Wazure", "we", "us") builds Wazure and Wazzy, an AI seizure companion that helps people record and understand their seizures. Protecting your health information is fundamental to what we do. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the strict limits we place on how it is used, in line with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (the PDPA).
- We collect data for one purpose: to provide the app and to advance seizure research.
- We never sell your data, and we never share it for marketing, advertising, or user targeting.
- Before any data is used to train our detection models, all personally identifying information is removed. Only broad age ranges, general demographic categories, and numeric sensor parameter values are used.
Who we are
Wazure Pte. Ltd. (UEN 202238403M) is a company incorporated in Singapore, with its registered office at 129 Clarence Lane, #16-48, Clarence Ville, Singapore 140129. We are the organisation responsible for personal data processed through the Wazure and Wazzy applications. For any privacy question, you can reach our Data Protection Officer at the contact details at the end of this policy.
What we collect
We only collect what the app needs to work and to support our research:
- Account details: the display name and username you choose, and authentication tokens that keep you signed in.
- Health profile: information you provide in conversation, such as your condition, medication, and the seizure types (your “classes”) you experience.
- Seizure reports and conversations: what you tell Wazzy by voice or text about an event (time, duration, triggers, whether it was witnessed, recovery, injuries), and the structured reports produced from it.
- Voice input: short audio you record. On supported devices speech is transcribed on your device. When that is not possible, audio is sent to our transcription provider solely to convert it to text, then handled as above.
- Sensor and device data: numeric signals from your phone or watch (for example heart-rate and motion values), your device type, and basic technical information needed to operate the app.
How we use your data
We use your data for two things only:
- To run the service: to capture your reports, generate your dashboard, trends and insights, and keep your information in sync across your devices.
- For research: to study seizure patterns and to develop and improve seizure detection and care models.
We rely on your consent under the PDPA for these purposes, together with the research and other exceptions the PDPA provides where they apply.
Research and model training: how we protect you
Before any of your data is used to train or evaluate our detection models, it is de-identified. This means:
- All directly identifying information is removed (for example your name, username, contact details, and any free text that could identify you).
- Your exact age and date of birth are reduced to broad age ranges.
- Only general demographic categories and numeric sensor parameter values are retained for training.
The models learn from patterns in numbers and broad categories, not from anything that points back to you as an individual.
What we never do
- We never sell your personal data.
- We never use or disclose your data for marketing, advertising, behavioural profiling, or user targeting.
- We never share identifiable data with any third party for their own purposes.
When we share data, and with whom
We share data only in these limited situations:
- Service providers: trusted vendors who process data on our behalf strictly to operate the app (for example secure cloud hosting and speech transcription). They act on our instructions, under confidentiality, and may not use your data for any other purpose.
- Research: only de-identified data, as described above, is used for research, including with research collaborators.
- Legal: where we are required to disclose data by law or a valid legal request.
That is the complete list. There are no other recipients.
Where your data is stored
Your data is held on secure cloud infrastructure located in Singapore (AWS Asia Pacific, Singapore). If any processing ever takes place outside Singapore (for example transcription), we ensure a standard of protection comparable to that required under the PDPA.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and health data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service and conduct research. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data at any time. De-identified research data, which can no longer be linked to you, may be retained for ongoing research.
Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable and appropriate measures to safeguard your information.
Your rights
Under the PDPA you may:
- ask what personal data we hold about you and how it has been used or disclosed;
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- withdraw your consent to our collection, use, or disclosure of your data (withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide parts of the service).
To exercise any of these, contact our Data Protection Officer using the details below. We will respond within the timeframes set by the PDPA.
Children
Wazure is intended for use by adults, or by minors with the supervision and consent of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect data from children without appropriate consent.
Not a medical device
Wazure and Wazzy help you record and understand your seizures. They do not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and they are not a substitute for professional clinical care or emergency services. If you are in danger, contact your local emergency number.
Governing law
Wazure is operated from Singapore and is initially available to users in Singapore. This policy, and our collection, use, and disclosure of personal data, are governed by the laws of Singapore, including the PDPA.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We will revise the date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.
